Circumstances of Offences:

The accused attacked his wife with a baseball bat breaking one of her arms in several places.
The wife gave evidence on oath that she had forgiven her husband and wished to carry on living with him. It was accepted by the Crown that the accused had shown real remorse for his behaviour. He pleaded guilty on the 1st available opportunity.

Circumstances of accused:

Minor convictions in the past. Aged 40, Caymanian. No record for violence.

Disposition:
Due to wife’s forgiveness, what otherwise would have been a long custodial sentence was not imposed. 2 years suspended for 2 years plus $600 costs.
